I Just Got Home from the Party

October 7th, 2019

It was like a bachelor party, except that it was the opposite of that. Kevin was not getting married, although he seemed to have come really close to it before he got caught creeping around with a red head who claimed to be a lingerie model. The word I got is that she was from a Las Vegas escorts service and that Lily’s father had hired her to get caught in the act. I am not sure that I believe that or not, but Kevin is back to being as wild as a man could be. Not coincidentally he went to Las Vegas to celebrate his break up. He probably made up the story about the escort, I do not think it would have so much variability if it were the straight truth and nothing but the truth. Continue Reading »

I Guess That Other Men Are Really Jealous of Me

September 30th, 2019

I met Kelly when we were both going to college and I always knew that she was really smart. In fact before I met her I thought that I was really smart too, but in relative terms I quickly realized that she was on an entirely different plane. By then she was already making enough money to get out of debt using a bitcoin trader app and some money she borrowed using her future earnings as collateral. There were bankers who knew by then that she was going to make a whole lot of money. She paid that money back without blinking an eye. I was baffled by the entire scheme, especially when she turned around and borrowed an even larger sum immediately. In fact the rate that she was paying for the loan was tiny compared to the profits she was getting off the bets that she made.

When she graduated from college there were recruiters from tech companies eager to throw money at her and I was sort of surprised that she did not leave me behind. Instead she got them to pay off a bunch of my college debt, which was a really substantial amount. Being really smart she figured out how they could do as charity, in fact it was all completely legal and they ended up writing it off their taxes. When I graduated a semester later she had already found me a job. This is obviously the sort of girl that you marry as quickly as you can, especially when she has every other attribute a man might want in a woman. I quickly realized that all the men she worked with just openly hated me and I could not help enjoying it. It is a strange feeling to feel like you have won such a big thing.

In This City You Must Protect Your Own

June 15th, 2018

Why did I call ADT in San Antonio a few months after moving here? Because I looked at the crime statistics. Do a search online for my fine city and you’ll quickly discover some very disturbing information about this Texas city. I found a site that says the crime in this city is one of the highest in the country. They gave the city a rating of three on a crime index. One hundred is the safest. A three! The criminals here specialize in rape, violent assaults, and manslaughter and that’s just for starters. The murder rate is sky high as well.

Why would I live here? I got a job transfer and I absolutely love the company I work for and refuse to quit. It’s as simple as that. They pay me enough money that I can afford to live in a nicer area of the city, but that has positives and negatives. Continue Reading »

Learn the Importance of User Interfaces for Web Design

December 29th, 2017

I needed to take a user experience design course in order to better understand my job as a web designer. I learned how to code several years ago when my job became redundant, and started freelancing in web design as a way to make some money while I transitioned to a different career field. What I didn’t understand at the time is that web designing would become my new career. I became quite adept at building websites for various concerns. I’ve built everything from big business websites to sites for educational institutions. I’ve even built some unique blogs for a few friends.

I excelled at building traditional sites, but the strong move to mobile devices such as phones and tablets started to concern me as a designer. The problem is that the user interface for mobile devices is quite different from traditional sites you access using a desktop or laptop computer. Continue Reading »

Exploring New Apartments with My Roommate

April 7th, 2017

My roommate and I decided that it’s time for us to move into a larger apartment. We want to stay in the same area, but we really need to find a place that offers us more space and is more modern. I found one apartment community that looked really interesting and told my friend to visit www.padonharvard.com. These apartments are some of the newest in the area. One of the features that attracted me to this place is the rooftop sky lounge. Having such a feature makes the place feel like I really am living in a huge metro area. I can see is inviting our friends over for parties in the lounge all the time. Continue Reading »

Dealing with the Deadly Sickness

August 29th, 2019

I used to work for a company that would tear down old properties to make way for new ones. A lot of these properties were built more than 30 years ago, which means that many of them had materials that were no longer used in construction, such as asbestos. Because of my continued exposure to asbestos while tearing down these properties, I began to suffer from mesothelioma. In order to treat the growth on my lungs, I had to go through a rough treatment process that was quite expensive. The upside to my condition is that the mesothelioma payouts took care of my medical bills.

Many other people been diagnosed with mesothelioma, including some of the people who worked with me. I was lucky to survive the mesothelioma due to the treatment I received, but other weren’t so lucky. I’ve been to a few funerals for my own co-workers, and it hurts to even think about. For years we worked our jobs, doing our best to support our families, and things just take a turn for the worse for us. Continue Reading »

Replacing the Old Cheap Coffee Maker

July 19th, 2019

Most of my counter top kitchen appliances have malfunctioned in the past year. I bought most of them for cheap prices at a local store, and they were made by brands that I’ve never heard of before. I suppose that should have been a warning sign that the products probably wouldn’t last a long time, but I was low on cash and needed to have these items. When my coffee maker broke, I went to Cuppabean to find one that was a bit higher in quality. I can live without somethings, but I refuse to live without a working coffee maker.

I’ve made coffee in the past by boiling water on the stove and pouring it through a drip spout with a filter inside of it. While I was able to do it, it wasn’t the most convenient method for making coffee. Continue Reading »

Visiting a Friend in Singapore

February 3rd, 2019

I went to visit a friend who lived in Singapore and he invited me to stay with him at Boulevard 88. I was fine getting a hotel room, but he insisted that I stay with him. I’m glad I did, because I liked being there, and I think I had more fun there than I would have had at a hotel room. My friend lived in a large condo and it was practically like having his own home inside of a building. I always wondered why my friend never felt like coming back after moving to Singapore, but after being in his condo, I can see why.

There was a restaurant that my friend loved to eat at, and he suggested we go there for dinner. Since my friend had gone there so many times, the staff knew his name and practically knew what he was going to order. I’ve never really been to a restaurant enough consecutive times to become on a first name basis with the people working there, but it seems to be kind of a nice feeling. There’s a friendliness in the air that comes from knowing everyone who works there, and I think it translates into how the food is prepared and how it tastes.

After going to dinner, my friend and I walked around, as I wanted to see more of the area where he lived. I fell in love with it, and my friend suggested that I move to Singapore, just like he did. While I did like the idea of moving there, I would have to get a new job, and I would have to save some more money to prepare for the move. It was something to think about for the future, but for now, I can just dream about it.

Reaching Productivity Goals with a Mobile App

February 3rd, 2019

I had a great idea to build up morale as well as productivity so I went to my boss about it. We had used an app development team in the past to design us in-house apps, which is what gave me the idea that I had. There was not an issue with our productivity at the time but I knew that we were entering into a tough season within our market where it may be harder to make the sales that we needed to make. We always have great incentive prizes to get the teams amped up to work harder, and I thought a scavenger hunt app would be a really cool way to do it this time.

We are comprised of a lot of competitive people, and none of us mind a little friendly competition between us either. I thought that the scavenger hunt could be done via an app. Every time a sales goal is reached, another level on the scavenger hunt is unlocked. Everyone would have the app on their work provided phones, so the clues would be right at their fingertips as soon as each person reached their own personal goals.

The prizes would be shown at different levels on the app too. Rather than just have one person win it all, I thought it would be nice to have several really nice prizes that would keep people interested even after the first person has won. I approached my boss with the idea, and he connected me with the app team right away. He liked the idea, and he wanted to put this into play as quickly as possible. The app development team went above and beyond expectations, and everyone is currently having fun doing their scavenger hunt on the mobile app. I don’t think we are going to have a problem with productivity this year!

The Best Place to Buy Gifts

December 25th, 2018

One of my favorite places to shop on the internet is Harajuku Fever. I found this site about a year ago when I was looking for a good phone case. I found it, but I discovered that Harajuku Fever is about so much more than just electronic accessories. It has all kinds of jewelry, accessories, key chains, pillows and blanket sets, clothes, shoes, and so much more. The first time I was on it, I must have spent at least an hour looking at different things in the various shopping categories there.

I have some friends who like far out there things like this too, so I usually will come to this site when I want to find something for one of them for a birthday gift. My sister turned 18 last week, and I was able to find her a great birthday gift on this website. She loves kitty cats, so I knew she would like the gray pillow that has pink hearts shaped like a cat’s claw. It also came with a nice sized blanket that matched the pillow. Continue Reading »

An Mp3 Site That Fits My Tastes

November 19th, 2018

Music is very soothing to me. Even the harder stuff that others may consider a bunch of noise, I just find it very calming and soothing to my soul. I like all kinds of music from classical to heavy metal, and just about every genre in between. I found an mp3 download website not long ago, and that is why I have so many different genres of music that I listen to now. Before finding this site, I only listened to a few different types of music. After discovering the site and listening to so many songs that I had never heard before, I realized that my musical tastes run the gamut!

I have not had the easiest life. Continue Reading »

I Stumbled, but He Got Hurt

October 29th, 2018

I was on vacation with my husband in Georgia. We were having the time of our lives. We picked this particular destination because it is where we first met, and we had not been back to the area for over 20 years. We were feeling nostalgic and wanted to take a walk down memory lane. What we were not counting on was having to use our phones to find a chiropractor in Cunmming, GA 30028. I can’t even say the reason we needed a chiropractor was because of something spectacular that happened.

After finishing lunch, we were walking back to our car. I stepped off the curb and stumbled, and my husband reached out to catch me. Continue Reading »

I Get to Watch My Favorite Programs from Back Home Now

August 2nd, 2018

When I decided to move to this country, I did so because I wanted to be near my son, his wife and my grandchildren. Separately I wanted to have a better life than I did in my home country. After I moved here, I found myself missing TV programming from back home, though. My son solved this by going to https://www.cablehdtvs.com to buy a little machine for me that allows me to watch the very same programming that I used to watch daily in my home country. I had no idea this was possible, but getting to watch all the things that I watched for years has given me a little bit of comfort while I settle into my new life here.

When I lived in Mexico, I lived a pretty simple life. My husband is no longer alive, so I had to rely on my own life skills to get by each day. Continue Reading »

We Needed to Be in the Right School District and Close to Mass Transit

May 2nd, 2018

Choosing a place to live is probably the biggest financial decision any family can make. Even if you find the most perfect place with all of the fancy amenities that you want, it may be in a district where you do not want to send your children to school. For us, school choice was also a big deal. We were excited then we found out where The New Futura condo towers were being built. It was right in the area we wanted to live.

Their website is at www.thenewfuturacondo.com.sg. Also, if you know anything about Singapore, you know that individual car ownership is expensive. Since we are an island nation with limited space, citizens are encouraged to use the massive public transit system. To own a car you need to buy a permit. It is not cheap. However, we have a permit for a car, and we own one. Continue Reading »

I Am Getting Ready to Move

April 2nd, 2018

I had been looking around for some time, mostly because I wanted a place that is closer to the office so that I would not need to spend so much of my time commuting back and forth to the financial districts of Singapore. Of course this place only works so long as I am sharing it with one of the people who work in the Bank of America building. I had no clue who he was when he came up to me, apparently someone we both knew had told him I was looking. I went to https://www.kleepers.com and tried to figure out how much they will charge me to clean up my place after I get all of my stuff moved out of it. Continue Reading »

Getting Physics Tutoring for a Company Promotion

March 6th, 2018

I wanted to boost my own chances of improving my job situation. I needed to brush up on my sciences a bit in order to test for a higher position in the company I work for. I was competing with people fresh out of university, but I had experience and a good reputation at work on my side. I planned on acing the exam for the position, so I sought out Singapore physics tuition months before the testing began. I knew the department and the job. I was just afraid of how I would perform on the test not having the equations and principles of physics so fresh in my mind like I did just out of college when I got this job.

The test result had a certain percentage cutoff point that applicants needed to reach. It was a really tough test. So much so that everyone that takes it is surprised at the low scores they actually receive. Passing scores, but, nevertheless, low overall. Continue Reading »

I Was Feeling Very Tired All the Time

December 28th, 2017

I did not know anything about TCM in Singapore, but I was committed to learning as much as I could online. The reason for this is because I had not been feeling well, and my regular doctor could not find anything wrong with me. I was just tired all the time, and I tried different things that my doctor suggested to no avail. He was not overly concerned because all my lab tests came back okay, but I was not satisfied with just doing nothing. I had heard good things about TCM, and I decided to research it further.

I had read about acupuncture helping with fatigue, but I was concerned about the pain of having that many needles stuck into my skin. I need not have worried though because it was not painful at all. Continue Reading »

I Give Myself Rewards when I Do Well

December 28th, 2017

I had been eyeing the Singapore New Futura building near my apartment for quite some time. I had been gunning for a management position at work, and I told myself that I would move into one of the condos there if I got the position. I’m quite competitive, and setting my sights on earning a big reward that comes along with a goal that I want to reach really helps me to put my best effort toward a goal. I’ve been using this type of strategy for many years, and it really does work.

After I graduated from high school, my dad said that I was floundering around in life far too much. Continue Reading »

My Photography Business is Booming Now

December 27th, 2017

Thanks to seo service in Philippines, my photography business has never been better. I decided to specialize in taking photos of children in the hopes that I could increase my business. The problem is that there are many people and businesses who have been involved in child photography for much longer than I have been. They have good reputations and people know they can trust them with their childrens’ portraits. How was I going to be able to break into that crowded field? I needed some help if I was going to make it in that cutthroat business.

Search engine optimization turned out to be the trick. Continue Reading »

What is the Best Meal Replacement?

December 5th, 2017

I have been working out a little more lately, because I need to lose about fifteen to twenty pounds. It is going to take a good deal of time and a very great deal of discipline for me to take the weight off. At the moment I am thinking about trying a meal replacement plan and reading things like Ideal shake reviews and that sort of thing. Of course I am already looking at ways to cut the calorie intake. There are different things that you need to understand about eliminating calories, first off the easiest thing to do is what I have done already. I stopped drinking sweet tea and soda, which when you think about is just a ridiculously quick and simple way to get fewer empty calories. If you drink a glass of water, then that has no calories in it and it is just as wet as the soda is. Continue Reading »

Love the Way You Kept My Home Perfect

November 25th, 2017

Since I was only going to be in Singapore for six to eight months, I was renting a short term rental condo near my new job, I knew I would be too busy to clean. I went online to find a cleaning service; my company actually recommend it to me. I did a Google search for home cleaning services in Singapore. It is not that I couldn’t clean; I just didn’t want to spend any free time I had cleaning. I know with my job was going to keep me busy, but when I wasn’t busy I wanted to do sightseeing and explore the area. I was very excited about the shopping possibilities. My family was excited that I could find them some great gifts for Christmas too. I have to admit getting my shopping done for the holiday was exciting for me too.

Finding your website was easier than I thought it would be. Continue Reading »
