The titles chosen for this sampler are linked by issues to do with healing - and the many forms it can take. They go way beyond stories in which people fall ill and get better (or die) - there is a deeper and wider exploration of the nature of healing going on here. These books deal with characters who have been damaged by illness, injury, punishment or the many emotional blows that life can deal - but that is where the similarity ends.
