A
Touch of ..... Festival
The Touch Of
samplers will be launched in May 2001 with a festival week of creative
reading events in public libraries under the banner of A Touching
Experience. This will build on the partnerships between NLB, public
library authorities and local voluntary associations for the blind forged
in the successful programme of events for National Touch Reading Day
and the first Touching Experience Festival in May 1999. A number
of grants are available from the NLB to public libraries who work with
their local associations for visually impaired people to make a creative
reading event which involves VIP readers. To apply for a grant your
authority must have attended one of the regional training sessions held
up to December 2000, where details of the grant programme were disseminated.
