In East Ayrshire we purchase multiple copies which have an item category "readgroup" on the catalogue record so that they can be searched.

We do buy multiples if one of the reading groups request them but mainly use the Harpercollins and Penguin Book of the Month  to decide which to buy multiples of.

Once the books have done the rounds they are dispersed around our branch network. Having the item category means that they can be searched as a multiple copy.
