Here in Plymouth I buy multiple copies (usually 12) of selected titles to support our own library readers groups, and community based groups. We buy one LP copy per set where possible, or identify LP and audio copies in general library stock for use alongside these sets if required.

Titles are selected from suggestions by groups and other sources (eg recently bought Nights at the Circus by Angela Carter in anticipation of a production at Plymouth Theatre Royal)

Once the sets have been to all the groups, or interest has died off, the books are added to general library stock if they are in good enough condition, or sold.

We have had a one off swap of sets which had been exhausted by our own groups with Torbay Libraries, and would like to pursue this further as it gave us a much wider range of titles for no additional cost.
