In Hounslow we buy multiple copies,  made up of staff and public's suggestions.

We haven't exhausted the rounds yet, and want to use the titles for other Reading Groups which we want to set up in the Autumn.

I'm dubious about sharing with other Authorities, because I believe if we buy the right stock, we should be able to maximise our own use out of it.  Between our Reading Groups, "Unclassified"-type collections, and general stock,  it should be in use  to the end of it's days.  (Recently, staff were concerned about dispersing multiple copies at the end of a large promotion; the truth was that having been dispersed, the stock issued its socks off!).  Also there's always the concern around what you get from other people might not be physically  up to the standards you demand of your own stock.
