We buy 20 copies of each title selected as a reading group set

• Suggestions are taken from reading groups, staff and  borrowers from around the Borough about titles for purchase. The final decision is taken by our Leisure and Culture team.
• Once we feel that use has been exhausted, copies are either made into "book of the month" titles in which case they stay as a set and 'visit' each library for a month, or the set will be disbanded and copies allocated to all libraries
• We've recently taken over the running of the reading group sets in this department (Central Services) for Dudley libraries and are working with neighbouring authorities (Wolverhampton, Sandwell, Walsall & Shropshire) to ensure the same titles aren't purchased by all.
• Each authority has sent us a list of holdings which we have collated (giving author, title, holding authority details) together with an added brief synopsis' for each title. This is then sent to each authority - loans between authorities are managed through ILL.  To view the list click here.  Please note that loans from this list are only available within this authority group.
