The Imprint

An audio imprint of performed poetry. An exclusive list of CDs, cassettes and videos which capture the impact of the performance that is invariably lost on the page. A valuable list of work that would otherwise only exist in the memories of the audience. Some audio includes written copies of the poetry.  A new iPoems section presents new poems in MP3 format, starting with over a thousand MP3s from around 50 poets.

Example Publication Family Favourites – John Hegley Described as ‘Comedy’s poet laureate’ (The Independent), this long awaited CD brings together John’s poems and songs about family relationships, real and imagined.

Who will listen?

This work has always appealed to a music/dance/theatre audience, rather than traditional poetry readers. The performances are dramatic, moving and would make a great introduction to poetry for any reader. It might encourage people to go to the gigs, as well.

Home of the Poetry Jukebox where visitors can try a selection for free and a new Video Jukebox which features rare archive films of poets in performance together with new poem-films all shot with the author on location and featuring a short interview with the poet about the poem.  It’s a really good bookmark for your library screens, and a great website to show to readers.
