With the support of DCMS Reader Development Programme funding in 2000, the Public Libraries Group commissioned Opening the Book to devise and produce a promotion for narrative non-fiction.
The Mind's Eye was the first promotion to use reader development approaches on non-fiction titles, and was rated as the most successful public libraries' book promotion ever.
