Why consult Black and Asian readers?

Consulting Black readers can really help if you are trying to find out what the library needs to do to offer a better service. It stands to reason.

The best way to make sure you are offering an appropriate service to a group of readers is to ask them directly. You don’t have to assume or guess – just ask. Consultation is a two way process. Try to set up ways to listen to Black readers as well as to talk to them.
