Large Print booklists

The provision of Large Print stock for readers who find standard print size difficult has long been a mainstay of the public library service.  It is sometimes seen as an area of stock which requires little attention or promotion as the people who need it will find it.  This view excludes Large Print readers from reader development approaches aimed at opening up their reading choices.  Large Print readers can be just as adventurous as any others!

Staff who are keen to offer wider choices to Large Print readers are often frustrated by the lack of variety on offer in Large Print publishing.  The free Large Print booklists on this site are a unique resource to help in this situation.  They are designed to tempt readers in new directions with an intriguing mix of titles.

CLICK HERE TO SEE A SAMPLE LIST. (This booklist is in Adobe.pdf format. If you do not have a copy of Adobe Acrobat Reader it can be downloaded free of charge by visiting their website at: www.adobe.com)

Each list gives a sneak preview of 10 great reads - all of them available in Large Print.  There are 10 different booklists in the A Touch Of... series including A Touch of Mischief, A Touch of Terror, A Ticklish Touch and A Velvet Touch.

Click here to see the complete collection of A Touch Of... booklists.  The lists have been professionally designed and are available to be used free of charge by any library authority.

A Touch of... was a joint Branching Out/National Library of the Blind project funded through the DCMS Reader Development Programme which also produced reader-centred promotional resources in Braille, Calibre cassettes, and RNIB Talking Books.
