Finding Joy in Our New Apartment

I know that life can be hard on everyone. No one gets through it unscathed at one point or another, but I am the type who chooses to look on the bright side of things, even when something rough might happen. When the house I had been living in caught on fire and destroyed most of my possessions, I was just happy that my two dogs were not hurt. I was also thankful that I had renter’s insurance so everything could be replaced. I had to find a place to live, so I looked at Forum at Grand Prairie first.

It is a complex that is not too far from where I work, and I had always liked the looks of it. I didn’t know anyone who lived there, so I had never been on the grounds before. I had to make sure they would even allow me to apply for one of the apartments since I do have dogs. I had lost too much already, but there was no way I was going to lose them too. That was not a problem though because they were both welcome at the complex.

I just needed a one bedroom apartment, and the one I got is a lot bigger than the house that I had lost. There was plenty of room for the three of us, and one of the things we love to do most is to go out on our balcony and just people watch. The girls don’t bark at people, which is very helpful, but I can see their tails going full force when they spot someone they know or like. I could have grieved over material possessions that were lost, but instead I just find joy in the new apartment that is much nicer than what we had before!
