Preparation and programme

Frontline working day:  Assessment and evaluation

AIMS:
• to share and compare examples of the work done on Frontline
• to agree standards of work on the course at key points
• to assess the quality of supervision
• to share strategies and advice in maintaining the quality of learning and the motivation of trainees
• to devise measures to evaluate the trainees’ experience
• to devise methods to measure the impact of the course on libraries and users

PREPARATION:
This preparation is essential for all participants. You will need to select, copy and print out some specific examples of three trainees’ work from their Learning Logs, alongside the related Learning Review comment from their supervisor.

Please choose:
• one trainee whom you consider to be very good
• one who was asked to repeat the work or who you felt fell below standard
• one trainee on whose work you would like a second opinion or that you think is borderline

Please copy the entries into a Word document to print out and bring with you.  Please make sure that you keep all work anonymous.
Please copy, paste and print the text from the following pages from the Learning Log entries of the three different trainees you have selected.  It doesn’t matter which Trainee provides which examples.  You will also need to print out the Learning Review in their corresponding Supervisor Logs in these modules.
