An introduction to Frontline for line managers
Supporting Frontline trainees under your management
The Frontline course will be taken by many library assistants and senior library assistants. It may not be appropriate for all line managers or library managers to take the course themselves. You may be in a position where staff you manage will be taking it so you need to know what to expect. This set of documents explains:
- what the course asks your staff to do
- how line managers can support the learning
- what effect doing the course is likely to have in the library
What does Frontline aim to teach staff in the library?
What impact will the work on the course have on normal work routines?
How will Frontline benefit my library?
How is the training organised?
What will the trainees actually do on the course?
How much time and support will the trainee need?
What can I do to support my staff who are doing Frontline?
What should I do if I notice a problem?
